ABOUT ORGANIC COTTON

When practicing the principles of soil health, the number one principle is “know your context.” Knowing your context means knowing the land being farmed, the soil type, the average rainfall, the average timing of rain, etc.

As a West Texas farmer, our team at Broadview Agriculture applies “knowing our context” by understanding that cotton is a crop that grows well here. We have been growing cotton from the very beginning of our operation. We currently farm around 5000 acres, and most of that is used to grow cotton- specifically, organic cotton. We try to rotate crops when the weather and markets are available, but cotton is king in our region.
